Brian F. Soltys , D.D.S.
Dr. Brian Soltys uses humor, a very gentle manner, and a somewhat questionable singing voice to comfort his patients. He and his team deliver quality care in a non-threatening, fun and friendly, yet professional environment. A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, he opened his own solo private general dentistry practice, something that is rarely done in today's world, shortly after graduation. Since that time, he has dedicated his career to serving his patients as he would want to be treated if he was in the dental chair. He treats them with kindness and respect, understanding that most patients would really rather be doing anything else than going to the dentist. It is important to Dr. Soltys that we respect patients' time by staying on schedule as close as possible, and to recommend needed care without any sense of pressure to accept our recommendations. The practice is at its same location but has grown through the years. Now he enjoys the honor and pride to practice alongside his youngest son, Dr. Brent.
Besides practicing in most facets that comprise general dentistry, Dr. Soltys has expanded his scope to include serving the profession of dentistry. He served on various committees at our local level, the Winnebago County Dental Society, ascending to its Presidency in 2002. Moving forward, Dr. Soltys became very active at the state level, ultimately achieving the honor of serving as the 150th President of the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) in 2013-2014. He participated in the first three Mission of Mercy events held by the ISDS, one being during his Presidential year, helping to donate millions of dollars of free care to our underserved population. Through his ISDS and American Dental Association membership, he has met and learned from colleagues all over our country. Additionally, Dr. Soltys had multiple opportunities to meet with our elected representatives, including two governors and both our U.S. Senators amongst many others, to discuss issues of importance that affect the way we practice dentistry, many of which can hinder the patient care we deliver and often limit the access of needed care for patients. These experiences and background make him even prouder to be a dentist, knowing how fortunate (and often humbled) he is to be in this wonderful profession that allows him to be able to serve one's oral health care needs. Dr. Soltys strongly feels that his patients benefit from his "greater good of the order" knowledge and his deep sense of dedication to his profession.
Dr. Soltys also has the honor to be elected to both the International College of Dentists and American College of Dentists, organizations that recognize those who serve others and possess the highest degrees of ethics in their practices. He Is a member of a Polish-American Dental Study Club in Chicago and is an associate member of the Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Soltys is married to Donna, and they have two sons. Dr. Doug is a general medical surgeon in the Quad Cities area and Dr. Brent of course practices with him. Donna is an associate professor at Rock Valley College. Together, when time allows, they enjoy traveling, watching or going to Cubs and Packers games, and spending time with their granddaughter Quinn.
